Fire Extinguisher Training
The OSHA compliant Fire Extinguisher training is an interactive 2.5-hour course consisting of one hour of classroom time with a PowerPoint presentation covering the different classes and types of fires and portable fire extinguishers. The students then go outside and perform a “hands on” training session on how to fight a live active fire safely and effectively.
Incident Command System – Awareness
This 4 hour ICS Awareness Class introduces the Incident Command System (ICS) to the student and provides the foundation to operate within your emergency management system. This course describes the history, features and principles, and organizational structure of the Incident Command System.
First Responder Operations
This specialized course is designed to train employees to respond to Hazardous Material incidents within their facility, as described in Cal-OSHA, Title 8 CCR 5192.
This 16 hour course trains first responders at the operations level to respond to releases or potential releases of hazardous substances as part of an initial response. Course participants will learn how to protect nearby persons, property, or the environment from the effects of a hazmat release by responding in a defensive fashion without trying to stop the release. This course will train personnel to contain the release from a safe distance, keeping it from spreading and preventing exposures.
First Responder Operations – Refresher
This course is designed to provide refresher training to employees who have recently certified at the First Responder Operations level and who will respond to hazardous material incidents within their facility, as described in Cal-OSHA, Title 8 CCR, sec. 5192.
This 8 hour course includes classroom presentations, tabletop exercises and practical application exercises with reviews.
First Responder Operations Decontamination for Healthcare
This is a 16-hour program conducted over a two-day period. This course, certified by the California Specialized Training Institute (CSTI), a part of the California Office of Emergency Services, is the standard for First Responder training in California. This course meets the OSHA HAZWOPER training requirements for emergency response personnel. Topics covered during the course include:
- Importance of Safety, Isolation and Notifications
- Use of the Incident Command System (HEICS) and risk analysis
- Use of correct type of Personal Protective Equipment
- Donning and doffing of chemical protective clothing
- Decontamination using appropriate Personal Protective Clothing
Hospital First Receiver: Awareness, Operations & Decontamination
This 16 hour course covers the first receiver operation requirements for hospital personnel who may encounter a contaminated patient from an external release of hazardous material or other substances including chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) agents. This course will cover both internal and external incidents. Participates will be taught both directed self-decontamination and how to be a functioning member of a hospital decontamination team.
Hazardous Materials Technician – Refresher
This course is designed to provide refresher training to employees who have recently certified as Hazardous Materials Technicians and who will respond to hazardous material incidents within their facility, as described in Cal-OSHA, Title 8 CCR, sec. 5192. This 8 hour course includes classroom presentations, tabletop exercises, hands-on practice, and practical application exercises with two instructors and reviews in the following areas:
- Employee safety guidelines and hazard assessment
- Basic Incident Command System
- Selection of Personal Protective Equipment
- Use of air monitoring instruments
- Perform containment and control operations
- Implement decontamination procedure and rescue
First Responder Operations Decontamination for Healthcare – Refresher
This course is an 8-hour program for healthcare staff that have taken the Operations (16 hour) level course. This course does not receive state certification, but we issue our own IEC course completion certificate which meets the OSHA HAZWOPER requirements for annual training. The training reviews all of the topics and hands-on skills covered in the 16 hour course.
Search and Rescue for Hospital Staff
This is an 8-hour Search and Rescue course for hospital engineering staff designed to meet the needs of responding to a post earthquake event. The course includes four hours of Search & Rescue and four hours of lifting and cribbing of concrete slabs. Most of the training is hands on role play and the use of lifting tools. We issue a training certificate for each participant that attend the training. Topics covered during the course include:
- Safety considerations, Risk and Hazards of Search & Rescue
- Risk Assessment
- Cribbing & Lifting principles
- Moving and lifting heavy objects
Fall Protection (6 hours)
This 6-hour online course provides invaluable lessons on the importance of fall prevention. You’ll review OSHA standards for fall prevention and learn how to recognize and avoid common fall hazards in the construction industry. This training is ideal for construction workers, demolition workers, construction supervisors and forepersons who require safety training for working at heights.
